Little Lady is a small, compact English lavender with piercing light blue flowers – a softer colour than the deep purple of Hidcote.

It is our recommended variety for easy-to-maintain low rows and hedges, and its neat size also makes it a good choice for pots and containers.

This plant is supplied in a 2 litre pot – a bigger plant than our 9cm and 1 litre sizes, for quicker impact in borders, patio pots and gaps that need filling.

  • Variety: Lavandula angustifolia 'Little Lady'
  • Final height: approx. 35cm
  • Planting space: 3 to 4 plants per metre
  • Supplied as: 2 litre pot

Planting

  • Plant in well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil. In heavy soil, mix in grit or sharp sand to improve drainage – lavender thrives in poor, sandy soil.
  • Choose a sunny position.
  • Water for approximately three weeks until established – a good soak encourages root growth.

Care

  • Needs minimal watering once established – do not overwater.
  • Prune after flowering. Cut back quite hard, but don't cut into old wood, as this can reduce flowering the following year, and take care not to remove all the green shoots.
  • Hardy – can be left in the garden all year round.

Our lavender plants are sold as culinary herbs.
